The start of the school year and the transition of public transportation to the winter schedule on August 7, 2024, will bring some changes to routes and timetables.
The updated routes and timetables can be viewed in the route planner at joensuu.digitransit.fi and in the timetable booklet, which can be downloaded from the JOJO website at jojo.joensuu.fi. Timetable booklets can also be purchased from Carelicum and Waltti buses for two euros. The process of changing the stop schedules will begin on August 7 at the downtown stops.

Local Traffic Lines 1–13

Line 4 (Onttola-Kytö-Noljakka-City Center-Karsikko-Kulho) will have an additional 4 trips during rush hours on school days. All additional trips are visible in the route planner.

Line 12 will now operate during school holidays as well (i.e., autumn, Christmas, and winter holidays).
Joensuu–Liperi/Hammaslahti Lines 101–104

Line 102 (Nepenmäki–Joensuu–Honkalampi–Liperi) will have its schedule adjusted so that departures from both ends of the line, Nepenmäki and Liperi, will be at the hour in the morning and five minutes past the hour in the afternoon. The number of trips will remain the same. On school days, an additional faster departure from Liperi at 7:05 a.m. will be added, which will not stop at Honkalampi. This trip will continue to the new campus of Vocational College Luovi on Pappilantie in Kettuvaara, Joensuu.

Line 103 (Urheilupuisto–Joensuu–Reijola–Hammaslahti) will no longer have the 9:00 a.m. departure from Joensuu to Hammaslahti on weekdays; instead, line 104 (Otsola–Joensuu–Reijola–Suhmura–Hammaslahti) will run on weekdays.
Joensuu–Kontiolahti Lines 201–215

Line 201 (Joensuu–Lehmola–Kylmäoja) will have an additional departure from Joensuu at 1:00 p.m. due to Lehmo School's closing time at 1:05 p.m. Departures at 8:05 a.m. from Joensuu and at 3:30 p.m. from Kylmäoja will run via Jokirannantie between Kylmäoja and Joensuu to accommodate Lehmo School students.

Line 204 (Nepenmäki–Joensuu–Lehmo–Paihola) will add a departure from Paihola at 10:00 p.m. for work-related traffic on weekdays.

Line 205 (Joensuu-Vanha Nurmeksentie-Kontiolahti) will be extended to Kontioniemi and changed to line 203. This change will provide a direct connection from Kontioniemi to Joensuu-Riveria by 8:00 a.m. and back after 4:00 p.m.

Line 214 (Kontiolahti-Kontioniemi-Paihola) will have its school trips divided into separate trips for Kuurna-Paihola and Kontioniemi on lines 214 and 203. The connection to Kontiolahti will be maintained for arrival by 8:00 a.m. and return after 4:00 p.m.

School line 208 (Joensuu-Kupluskylä-Lehmo-Kylmäoja-Kontiolahti) will be discontinued and merged with line 212 (Joensuu-Lehmola-Kontiolahti), which will also run via Jukolankatu and Pohjatuulentie. Students from the Kupluskylä area to Lehmo School at 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. will be served by line 201.
Street Work Continues on Bus Routes
Road construction in Mutala continues to affect vehicle traffic on Utrantie between Kurjenkatu and Nuohoojankatu. The construction of the Utrantie crossing will begin in mid-July, and the work is expected to last about a month. The bus stops at Kurjenkatu and Nuohoojankatu will be temporarily out of service, with replacement stops located at the Jukolankatu intersection. The construction is expected to be completed by the end of August.
The construction of the roundabout at Länsikatu–Yliopistokatu will also affect public transport in the area. Local traffic lines 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 12, 101, 102, and 104 will run temporarily via Siltakatu–Kalevankatu. Lines 3, 7, 9, and 11 will run temporarily past the construction site via Suvantokatu–Sepänkatu. The two stops near the roundabout will be out of service during the construction period. The work is expected to be completed by the end of November.
